My delightful girlfriend installed a firepit in my back yard, with nice stone work, vibrant flowers and a bubbling “water feature” (now a new entry to my lexicon.)

For the ground cover she chose a nice pea gravel.

Of late the feral cats in my ‘hood have decided that pea gravel is not unlike kitty litter.

Near one of their more solid offerings, a dark discoloring is manifesting itself.

Closer examination shows that it is made up of a collection of smaller dark objects, a Monet of mold, if you will.

So my question is, what is this, and how do I make it go away.

Last night I was seated next to someone who said he was like “Cliff Claven” -the annoying mailman from “Cheers” that was always spouting “little known facts” that were inaccurate. . . . as it turns out that was just about the only accurate statement he made durning the course of the dinner party. He reagled the table with stories of bullets in flag pole finials and statuesque symbolisms.

I thought my head would explode as I held my tongue . . . but I let decorum rule the evening and did not call his babblings out into the light of truth . . . that is what blogs are for – LOL!

Stray snake halts proceedings in state assembly

BHUBANESWAR, India (Reuters) – A stray snake brought parliament to a standstill for several hours on Thursday in India’s Orissa state, officials said.

A cleaner spotted the intruder, believed to be a king cobra, while sweeping in the morning and called the assembly’s watchman.

The speaker of the assembly in the state capital Bhubaneswar adjourned the house as security personnel, wildlife officials and a member of a local snake helpline searched unsuccessfully for the creature with the help of a sniffer dog.

Snakes are straying more frequently into built-up areas because construction has driven the reptiles out of their habitat, wildlife expert Biswajit Mohanty said.

New coat

I recently laid down about 5 gallons on my truck . . . I still need to take some pics of the completed truck . . . but you get the idea

Day one was masking everything and laying down a white primer coat.

Next came the green.

Followed by the flat black on the wheels and the stenciling.

This just warms my heart.
